May 2009 Newsletter

Welcome to the Dave Reiter Art Newsletter

Upcoming Events:
Summer is coming quickly and I am gearing up for another active summer. The festival season for me will begin with the Aspen Art Festival and continue with other great festivals. Here are the dates:
• Aspen Art Festival, July 18-19 (Aspen, CO)
• Frisco Fine Art Festival, Aug 8-9 (Frisco, CO)
• Golden Fine Art Festival, Aug 15-16 (Golden, CO)

I have other festivals that I am working on securing that are out of state, but at the time of this newsletter, they have not been confirmed. When these become definite, I will immediately let you know.

In addition to the festivals, new doors have opened for me with two Galleries where you can find my work and purchase paintings. The first is at Pinetop Contemporary Fine Art Gallery in Pinetop, AZ (White Mountains area) and the second is at Leap of Faith Fine Art Gallery in Fort Collins.

New work has been added to the website:
I have added new images that you can view on my website (http://www.davereiterart.com). You can also see all eight of them attached to the end of this newsletter. For this particular set of paintings, I continued with the strong mountainous feel as I did earlier in the year, but I also moved away from the water theme a little bit and went the opposite direction with three desert scenes. I also did two landscape paintings with a strong composition to include a road which will lead the viewer straight into the scene. I have had a lot of positive feedback on these so I hope you will like them as well.

Recent events:
• Participated in the Dallas Artscape Fine Art Show during the Dallas Blooms in Dallas, TX.
• Participated in a number of local events here in Colorado.

Question & Answer:
Here is a question that people ask me periodically, “Do you do commission work?

The short answer is yes. One of the benefits of a commission piece is that because I stretch all of my own canvases, I am able to create a painting that will fit the exact size you are looking for. The second benefit of a commission piece is that I am able tailor some of what is in the painting to the individual’s liking. Keep in mind that on all commissions, the style would remain the style you see in my current paintings and that they need to be landscape in some capacity. If you would like a commission piece, please feel free to contact me and we can discuss more.

As always, I look forward to seeing you in the near future,
Dave Reiter
